When To Book?
Don't leave it too late! To get the pick of the best DJs for your event you should try to book well in advance, ideally as soon as you've booked the venue (before if you have concerns about the resident DJ).
The best wedding DJs are usually booked up at least a year in advance...
Cost-Cutting Tips
- Don't book a kids party into the evening - especially on a Saturday in the summer. This precludes the DJ from taking full-fee bookings and is likely to increase the price.
- Don't expect DIY / iPod discos to save you money. Equipment hire rates can actually cost more than a budget DJ WITH sound and lighting gear.
- Get everything in writing. If it's all agreed in black and white then you can't be held to ransom at a later date.
