Why must I specify a Maximum Budget?
This information will NOT be shared without your permission, but it ensures we get the right DJs to quote you. There's no point getting quotes from £400-plus DJs if your budget is closer to £200 because that's just a waste of everyone's time.
The following table shows UK-wide averages for typical events. Saturday evenings are most popular, especially in summer and December, and are usually most expensive. Add at least 50% for New Years Eve events.

To target the right DJs please choose the most appropriate category:
Budget DJ - Limited Experience - Basic Equipment
Budget DJs are often less experienced or relatively new to the business. They can be one of a group working for an agent down to a fixed price for regular work. Many are part-time one-person operations and therefore less likely to be operating in accordance with industry best practice.
Budget DJs tend to operate lower-cost or older equipment with limited backup. They are more likely to work on an casual / cash only basis without documentation. But they are more likely to be available at short notice.
Mid-Price DJ - Average Experience - Typical Equipment
A mix of full-time and part-time operators, usually with significant experience of performing at a range of events including weddings and corporate. They are more likely to take account of industry best practice, be operating legally and will be able to provide lots of genuine customer feedback.
These DJs will most likely offer a range of payment methods backed by the protection of a contract and formal documentation. Many are limited companies with backup equipment, staff and procedures.
Premium DJ - Very Experienced - Best Equipment
The natural choice for an important event. All Premium DJs hold a DJmark Award - this means their business practices have been independently vetted by a third party. All Premium DJs carry PLI and PAT which your venue may insist on.
Premium DJs will have a proven customer service track record. They are most likely to be full-time entertainment businesses specialising in certain types of event such as weddings and offering a wide range of extras. The will offer discreet, modern, high-specification equipment with plenty of backup on hand to ensure the show goes on regardless.
×Why must I provide a valid phone number?
Even if you don't want DJ's to contact you by phone, we insist on holding a valid phone number on file for two main reasons:
- In case there is a problem with your email account and we need to clarify things with you;
- As a symbol of trust. We're giving you a free service, the least you can do is share your real identity. Your number will never be used without your consent and will be securely deleted from our system once you have closed your quote request.
I don't want DJs contacting me by phone!
No problem. Unless you tell us otherwise none of our members will call you. This is especially useful if you are planning a surprise party!
×Why must I confirm the event date NOW?
Most DJs are very small companies, often just a single person. Their diaries can fill very quickly, especially for popular dates, and so the majority will only offer quotes for parties and events where the date is declared up front.

×What if I haven't booked the venue yet?
It's really important that your chosen venue is communicated to the DJ as soon as possible, as this might have an impact on their quote. For example, if the venue has lots of stairs or limited parking this could affect the type of equipment used or the number of people required to get it into the building.
