It's sometimes confusing for potential members to see the various benefits of needadisco.com membership, so we thought we'd put together our Top 10 Reasons!

#1 : Improved Search Visibility
Both needadisco.com and UK-Parties achieve excellent search engine placement and sometimes, as in this example, we rank higher even than a DJs own website or MySpace page!
In the majority of cases we show in the Google Top 10, usually above the "fold", and we're working hard to ensure ours is the first directory entry shown.
All views of member details are recorded as Tweets against a special Twitter account; we will show you how to access this data as an RSS feed so that you are instantly informed each time a 'footprint' is left by a visitor to any of our sites.
#2 : Postcode Search
Our simple user-friendly Postcode Search tool allows website visitors to quickly see a list of DJs and Discos who serve the area where their venue is located.
This doesn't limit itself to the DJs home base - each DJ is able to tell us right down to postcode level which areas they are actually prepared to travel to (or not!) and this information is used for matching.
Search results are biased towards locally-based companies - those within 20 miles (or 10 miles inside the M25) are weighted towards the top - and those with good star ratings.
Star Ratings are earned based on compliance with a whole range of best practices including PAT, PLI, health & safety policy, positive customer feedback, breadth of service offering etc..
Members may now purchase banners on the Postcode Results pages, with clickthroughs either to your own website or to your needadisco.com page. There is one banner per postal outcode area and banners are sold on an exclusive basis for 12 months.
#3 : Cross-Promotion on UK-Parties.co.uk
UK-Parties is a very popular directory covering the whole of the UK and detailing thousands of party venues ("Party Places") and party service providers ("Party People"). needadisco.com members are automatically included in the 'Discos & DJs' category on UK-Parties.
UK-Parties organises advertisers by base county, so you'll be listed here along with your local competitors.
Those with the highest star rating appear first on the list. At the top of the page are hyperlinks to the larger adverts which follow.
Only the Top 5 members per region are now shown in full detail - those not making the Top 5 receive a smaller summary advertisement only. This limits the amount of data on the page and promotes those members with the highest star ratings.
Each DJ or Disco has a very detailed entry on UK-Parties, including:
- A logo or picture
- DJmark award if applicable
- Star rating
- Reviews
- A link back to needadisco.com for full details
- A 'Tagline' and free text which you provide us with
- A series of green or red icons showing which basic best practices are adhered to
- Full contact details
- Email contact form
- A link to your own website (if you have one)
- TXT-ME
- A series of icons summarising the services offered
#4 : Venue Recommendations
Some 80% of UK-Parties visitors are seeking venue information and many spend a long time on the website reviewing and comparing our comprehensive details.
We take every reasonable opportunity to cross-sell our Mobile Discos and DJs by providing links and banners on relevant pages.
Here is just one example (left) which if clicked would perform a Postcode Search based on the venue's postcode and present the information in exactly the same way as detailed above in Reason #2.
We also include links to DJ Info where applicable.
We've now integrated Google StreetView where available
#5 : DJmark Accreditation
DJmark is the original and the most comprehensive DJ checking service for the UK industry.
With three levels of award available - Silver, Gold & Platinum - we reward those members who are serious about their business and customer care with their own industry award. This is shown against listings on needadisco.com, UK-Parties and is available for members to use on their own websites and marketing materials too.
DJmarks are regularly reviewed. This is a FREE service to needadisco.com members!
#6 : TXT-ME Feature
A very simple but effective marketing tool which is optional and is shown on both needadisco.com and/or UK-Parties listings.
This applet allows a browsing customer to have YOUR contact details sent directly to their mobile phone via SMS. WE then send YOU, via email, the customer's contact number which you may then use for onward marketing purposes.
There is a small charge to cover the cost of this service, hence it is optional. However, several members have commented on its effectiveness.
#7 : Reviews Feature
A comments/reviews feature is implemented on your UK-Parties listing.
Many members ask customers to post feedback here and they then provide a link to it from their own websites.
Having review details on what is obviously a third-party website is a powerful selling tool.
In 2009 we're looking to expand this feature to allow the uploading of photographs by the host or the DJ - a commonly-requested facility
#8 : Quote Request Tool
Following on from any of our search mechanisms is our Quote Request tool.
The Top 10 DJs & Discos returned for the search automatically have their tickbox checked, the rest do not but the customer may easily check any that he/she is interested in.
The customer then enters some basic details about their function (date, location, type, size etc.) plus contact details.
This is then forwarded as a quote request to all of the DJ's selected.
#9 : Detailed Venue Information
How much time could you save if you knew all the relevant details about a venue or function room prior to your first visit there?
We hold details on file over on UK-Parties for thousands of venues up and down the country. Now we've added information of interest to DJs and entertainers including Google StreetView where available.

- Dancefloor / Stage / Lighting
- Smoke policy / Sound Limiters
- WiFi and mobile phone coverage
- Parking and access
- Staff friendliness (and problems)
- Setup area, power provision
- Dimensions for room and setup area
- Proximity of bar, restrooms etc.

#10 : Enhanced Venue Recommendations
To improve conversions we put a pane similar to the example with every venue on UK-Parties. The Top 3 DJs are selected based on star rating, but if you've sent us a venue review we'll automatically include you in the three if you're the first reviewer.
For each member there's an Info button which links to your full needadisco.com entry, a Quote button which asks for more details then results in a quote request directed only at yourself, and a Website button which links to your own website if you have one.
There are over 7,000 venues on UK-Parties and this number is increasing weekly.
